Local Flavor Guide

Just saw the Local Flavor Guide to Denver’s Hot Spots & Local Shops. If you have a neighborhood to submit, now’s the time! Or, check it out for local spots in your hood. Looks like this could be a good little resource – pick one up at the Tattered Cover to check it out.

The site says:

Guides are currently available for these Denver neighborhoods:

Local Flavor Guides™ for the South Broadway, Berkley and Historic Uptown neighborhoods are currently in the works!

Also related, the same sponsor of the Guides launched Colorado Local First (beta) to “raise awareness about the importance of supporting local businesses, and provide resources for individuals and businesses to identify and build relationships with companies that are more local, more independent, and more sustainable.”

The SoBo guide is out now. The launch party for it was just a few days ago. We haven’t gotten the web site updated with that info yet.

However, we also had another major launch last week. The Colorado Local First directory is online. You can find cool and unique local businesses, post reviews, and see what kind of socially responsible and environmentally sustainable business practices they’ve got going on.
