Denver Elevators: the skinny
2008 August 7
The other day I was in what I believe to be the slowest elevator in Denver: the Denver pavillions elevator taken from the parking garage level 2 all the way up to level 3 – it takes a lifetime for it to reach you, not to mention just riding up to the theater. However, my friend Ana says she is an expert on Denver elevators, so here it is folks: The skinny on elevators in Denver via Ana the elevator expert:
- Fastest elevator: 1999 Broadway – Lobby to 31st Floor (Don’t take this if nauseated, hungover, or have any sinus congestion)
- Smallest Elevator: same building as slowest
- Coolest elevator system: Republic plaza: they have express elevators, but these run as a duplex, so if one stops on an even floor, the odd floor stops to – and it talks to you.
- Coolest way to find out what elevator is coming: 1680 Lincoln (right across from wells fargo tower) will tell you which elevator to go to and an interactive map based on your floor selection (if someone wants to go to 10 and you only to 3, you won’t ride the same elevator – aka less stopping)
- Slowest Elevator: the building next to where Duffy’s used to be (see image, it’s the building on the right, duffy’s is on the left and republic plaza is in the background). Runner up: Pavilions Elevator!
