Denver gets Pretty

It’s that time of year when the city gets decorated and I love walking around on 16th street mall & the downtown area because it’s so pretty & festive!

The GRAND illumination is coming up on November 28th. Starts at 6 pm at Union Station, and ends at the City & County Building around 6:45 pm.

Both stay lit thru mid-January.

Also, the parade of lights is just around the corner. Friday, December 5th at 8 pm or Saturday, December 6th at 6 pm. Starts in front of Civic Center Park and the City & County Building on Bannock Street at 14th Avenue. If you don’t want to brave the cold, just catch it on Channel 9 on the fifth.

Great blog. Just curious – Have you guys heard anything about the Santa pub crawl?

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4281670797 Well I had not but is this what you are referring to? I also heard there used to be one for the CO Coalition for the Homeless but haven’t seen much about it this year? We’d be interested in news on such a (fun) event!

Details from a friend. Not sure why it wasn’t more publicized since it seems to be a pretty large event….

    ITINERARY
4:00-6:00 Fado 1735 19th St (Toy Drop Off)
6:00-7:30 Breckenridge Brewery 2220 Blake St ($1 Jello Shots,
    $3 Well Drinks)
7:30-9:00 The Retro Room 2034 Larimer St (Toy Drop Off, $3
    You Call It for Santas)
    9:00-10:30 Theorie 1920 Market St ($2 Drafts, $3 Wells)
    10:30-12:00 Jacksons 1520 20th St
    12:00 Take a cab home.

It’s time again for the Annual Colorado Santa Claus Pub Crawl. For you veteran Santas out there, I know you don’t need any explanation or convincing. But for the those who haven’t participated before, you’ll just have to take our word for it…its a blast. We’ll parade around Lodo to 5 different Lodo bars in full Santa Suit (or Holiday Garb) spreading Holiday Cheer…taking in a little too.
Your one requirement is to bring at least one $10 unwrapped toy. Last year you all donated close to $5,000 worth of new toys that benefitted Safehouse Denver and the Samaritan House.
Santa suits can be purchased at most Walmart/Target stores for under $50 as well as online. But get one early as they sell out. Our numbers are typically in the hundreds so don’t be that guy who just wore a Santa Hat thinking nobody would actually go out in Lodo dressed as Santa.
