Doors Open Denver

2009 April 17
by realideal

This weekend is the 3rd annual Doors Open Denver. This means you can tour places you normally can’t get into, or find out some pretty cool info on buildings and parks in Denver from the experts. There are more than 80 places open to the public including offices, mansions, museums, architecht/design studios, hotels and commercial buildings. The site says:

The theme for Doors Open Denver 2009 is Designing Denver, honoring the contributions of Denver’s own distinguished architects and designers by opening doors representing outstanding examples
of their work and style.

You can take a self guided tour, a recommended “adventure” or an expert tour – which is what I hear is the best route to go. To take an expert tour, it’s free, but you have to go to Union Station to sign-up. Spots are limited, so plan on being there at 8:30 am tomorrow (Saturday, April 18).

The event is Saturday, Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
