I am in love with Garbanzo’s Mediterranean Grill. If you have no idea what I am talking about you need try it ASAP! Garbanzo’s is basically the Chipotle for Greek food. It is the same type ordering process and you can taste anything before they slab it on your plate. The flavors are so fresh and flavorful it seriously makes my tummy gurgle just thinking about it. They have fresh pitas, falafel, hummus and the best salads ever. It’s a great alternative to fast food especially if you are watching the calories or even a vegetarian. I work in the Denver Tech Center and I have slowly become addicted. I have my frequent customer card and have earned a free side of falafel twice in the last month. I have never been a frequent enough customer anywhere to ever earn any awards! In Denver we are lucky enough to nine locations to enjoy. They are slowly expanding with locations in Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. Seriously… Go try it. You will not be disappointed.
As a marketing/advertising gal and avid fan I obviously took the time to check out their website and see what kind of marketing they were doing. As a media buyer I have never seen or even heard one of their ads, but every time I go there is a line out the door! I guess that goes to say how successful you can be with a quality product and word of mouth! Just imagine what they could do if they did advertise! They would have to open more locations to handle the crowd! I think it’s only a matter of time before they expand outside of Colorado. Hey Garbanzo if you need a marketing/advertising/pr gal – pick me! www.eatgarbanzo.com

This place is one of my favorite spots to study, read or work on a laptop. On top of the Museum of Contemporary Art, it has great views, a lovely staff, and you can go walk around the museum if you get too stir crazy during a long work session. There is outdoor and indoor seating, free wifi (once you pay to enter if you aren’t a member). If you are a member, be sure to let them know so you get your 10% discount on food & drink.

The building itself is LEED certified and is, in my opinion, art by itself. I like the HUGE door at the entrance:) The museum is at 1485 Delgany St, we’ve briefly written about the museum before here. If you are here, also be sure to check out the bean bag room inside on the same floor as the rooftop.

I recently wound up at the Red Trolley for breakfast with a friend, and wanted to post about it because it was such a pleasant experience. Good for coffee, breakfast, lunch or gelato – it’s situated in the lo-hi area on 32nd between Clay and Bryant – just up the street from Duo and Pasquini’s. It’s a big red building, and when you get inside turn to your right, press the red button, and watch the trolley train go round the top of the inside (Kid’s love it).

My favorite thing about the place was the service – Breakfast was actually over when we arrived, but the guy on staff still managed to make us egg sandwiches – and great conversation. He even let me taste their award winning gelato (try the kind with sea salt!). Check out their site for a free scoop of gelato coupon. And if you go, try their Novo coffee from the very awesome clover machine. Yum. Not into egg sandwhiches or gelato? Check out their all you can eat cereal bar.

Don’t believe us that it’s yummy? Here’s another little write up, too.

Each cooked by different chefs and served at Studio Como on 25th and Walnut, priced only at a suggested donation – cash only.

Or here’s Hush’s own blurb:

Hush Denver is an underground eatery designed to pay homage to the incredible rising talent in today’s culinary world. Hush Denver exists to honor the men and women working long, hard, hot days so that foodies like you and I can enjoy countless great memories in the restaurants we know and love. It is our promise to provide diners with an experience unlike anything they have seen in the past. We at Hush spend our days dreaming up new ways to enlist some of the countries top rising chefs, then spend our evenings working with those chefs to bring you a night you will never forget. Hush Denver operates on suggested donations only and proceeds of our events help advance the success of our featured chefs.

Next event is February 20th, featuring Chef Ian Kleinman, formerly with Restaurant O. Phil Armstrong says they have a great line up scheduled for the year, so stay tuned on more Hush events.

1. Jamaica Juice – Okay, so it’s in Writers Square next to American Apparel. The name is completely deceiving — they do have fresh smoothies but they have the most de-li-cious sandwiches toasted or not aaaaaand salads … I don’t even like salads, but they have great dressings … go try it!

2. Whole Foods – I love Whole Foods. I can’t help it — so many choices.

3. The House of Commons – Kay showed me this one. I am a fan. The lady is adorable with her English accent and they have real clotted cream and lemon curd for their scones. But the sandwiches are fresh and light and are a perfect stop-and-go lunch.

Court:

1. Illegal Pete’s – Tasty burritos nearly as big as your head — what’s to explain?

2. Handlebar Grill – The menu offers a variety of tasty sandwiches and burgers

3. Cook’s Fresh Market – While some of the things in this store are fairly overpriced, the folks at Cook’s will throw together a sandwich with fresh, tasty ingredients.

K:

1. The Creamery – ghetto and delicious. and really quick in and out.

2. Noodles and Company – It’s a reliable quick bite. You always know what you are going to get, and you know that it will always be fast.

3. Corproate Deli – A surprise to even myself with a name like this, but the Corporate Deli (inside the Denver Club building) has the best service (remember my name after first time I went) and yummy and extremely affordable food!
