By Angie

I am in love with Garbanzo’s Mediterranean Grill. If you have no idea what I am talking about you need try it ASAP! Garbanzo’s is basically the Chipotle for Greek food. It is the same type ordering process and you can taste anything before they slab it on your plate. The flavors are so fresh and flavorful it seriously makes my tummy gurgle just thinking about it. They have fresh pitas, falafel, hummus and the best salads ever. It’s a great alternative to fast food especially if you are watching the calories or even a vegetarian. I work in the Denver Tech Center and I have slowly become addicted. I have my frequent customer card and have earned a free side of falafel twice in the last month. I have never been a frequent enough customer anywhere to ever earn any awards! In Denver we are lucky enough to nine locations to enjoy. They are slowly expanding with locations in Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. Seriously… Go try it. You will not be disappointed.
As a marketing/advertising gal and avid fan I obviously took the time to check out their website and see what kind of marketing they were doing. As a media buyer I have never seen or even heard one of their ads, but every time I go there is a line out the door! I guess that goes to say how successful you can be with a quality product and word of mouth! Just imagine what they could do if they did advertise! They would have to open more locations to handle the crowd! I think it’s only a matter of time before they expand outside of Colorado. Hey Garbanzo if you need a marketing/advertising/pr gal – pick me! www.eatgarbanzo.com

I had found it. The perfect bread pudding. I didn’t even think I liked bread pudding, but this was unbelievable. I, personally, described it as “orgasmic” but some others might call it a “foodgasm or mouthwatering” – whatever you prefer. It was at Via – on Wynkoop and 19th. A hint of peach flavor, made from the yummy squishy bread they serve at Via. And now, it’s clooooooosed. Now it’s a Tavern. Fun for burgers and football game watching. But not bread pudding. Noooooooo.

So here I am again, in search of the perfect bread pudding in Denver – at an establishment that still has open doors. I haven’t found it yet but there are close seconds, and here is where I’ve found them (or wouldn’t recommend the bread pudding but would recommend an alternative!) – check back for updates as I try around town or leave a comment of what you recommend!

Lala’s bread pudding – tops my list so far as close second

tbd

tbd!

While ChoLon is delicious, their banana bread pudding did not make my mouth water. Their soup dumplings, however, did. Dessert: those spiced donuts (yum!)

Santiago Calatrava a Spanish architect unveiled his plans for the proposed south terminal. This addition will include the Lightrail station that will connect DIA to Union Station downtown and a 500 room Westin hotel.

Personally I think the proposed plan looks great and compliments the current architecture at DIA. As a resident in downtown I look forward to the day I can jump on the train at Union Station and arrive at the new south terminal. To see the potential future of DIA view the video:

This place is one of my favorite spots to study, read or work on a laptop. On top of the Museum of Contemporary Art, it has great views, a lovely staff, and you can go walk around the museum if you get too stir crazy during a long work session. There is outdoor and indoor seating, free wifi (once you pay to enter if you aren’t a member). If you are a member, be sure to let them know so you get your 10% discount on food & drink.

The building itself is LEED certified and is, in my opinion, art by itself. I like the HUGE door at the entrance:) The museum is at 1485 Delgany St, we’ve briefly written about the museum before here. It’s the first time since 1955 that the building is open to the public and its three floors are filled with works from 24 artists. ESPN just had a little write up about Baseball’s furthest seats. We were happy the Rockies got the reward. Packing in summer before it ends? Don’t forget to head out to a Rockies game – and sit in the Rockpile, the best seat in the house for $4 per person (and $1 per kid). Also, we think, the place where the wave always starts.

The view from the farthest seat in baseball, ironically, ranks among the prettiest. Two of Colorado’s many 14,000-foot mountains, Longs Peak and Mount Evans, dominate the western skyline when the sunset turns it orange and purple. Downtown Denver’s unique cluster of skyscrapers tower above home plate. The entire ballpark looks back at you.
