I went to this event a couple years back and I’d say it was a fun time: Westword’s Artopia. This year’s is on February 20th from 7 to 10:30 pm @ Vinyl + area venues. Each area is transformed into a theme – art, music/dancing, fashion. Drinks are included in your ticket. $25.

Westword Artopia incorporates food, drinks, art, music, theater, and fashion into one evening, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting a local charity. Westword will award 5 upcoming individuals or small organizations that have made an impact in the local art community. The winners will be featured in a special pullout section of Westword on February 18, 2010 and will be honored at the event. Each award recipient will receive a check for $3,000.

Riverfront Park Fashion Show

On August 20th, the last Riverfront Park Fashion Show will take place. It’s 5:30 to 9:30 pm. Fashion by Robert Rodrigues, and food from Larimer Square’s Tomayo, we’ll be there.

General admission ($50) includes all you can drink (usually wine, sometimes run if you get there earlier) and entertainment. Tickets are also available for catwalk seats and catwalk tables (for six). Online ticket sales close at 5 pm the day before the event, and prices go up the day of the event… so buy your tickets early!

Fashion Denver

On October 18th (This Saturday) is the seasonal Fashion Denver Market + Fashion Show, put on by fashionista + singer, Miss Brandi Shigley. These have come quite a ways from just 3 years ago when I once was a model in the show (very fun). This is the 15th Brandi will have put on – so show up to check out some fashion, mingle with fun people, or buy early presents of really cute stuff from local vendors.

This season’s market, Libra, will be at City Hall, 1144 Broadway, from noon to 7pm. It’s $5 and benefits Dress for Success.

Fresh fashion market is this weekend on May 10th at the Oriental Theater, noon to 7 p.m. B. Shigley spearheads these once a quarter – this being Spring’s market. It’s a gathering of local designers you can shop from or just stop by to check out. Fashion shows included. Each market benefits a non-profit (this one goes to Dress for Success) and costs $5 admission.
