Scavenger Hunts in Denver

Denver has several scavenger hunt type events. These are fun because you get group action, get to run around Denver (and get to know the city), and it’s just fun. The next one I know of that sounds like a fun time is:

Urban Navigators by Adventures for Charity. Lace up your sneakers, feed your brain, and challenge your friends…the 2008 Urban Navigator, an “Amazing Race” style event, will leave the typical 5k in the dust!

On September 13th, at a central downtown Denver location, anxious teams will anticipate the sound of the bullhorn that will send them racing throughout the city armed with a passport, light rail passes, and a clue that holds the key to their adventure – an adventure that includes both mental and physical challenges.

Earlier in the year (annually) is from the Starlight Foundation: the Mile High Hunt. Check back around May 09 for next year’s details.

Squirt Gun Fight!

I just heard about something that sounds amazing: Denver Squirt Gun Association. And they have a website so this is the real deal. From their site, it doesn’t look like the fights are too huge right now but if I go and you go it could be a serious time.

Fridays at 5 p.m., next to the broom-sculpture that’s next to the Denver Art Museum on 13th Avenue between Broadway and Acoma.

Denver Cruisers

If you have been out downtown on a Wednesday night you no doubt have witnessed a mass of bikers riding around in what appears to be an aimless and ridiculous ride. This is in fact what it is. Sometimes these cruisers are in costume, sometimes just ridiculous, sometimes normal bikers. What you are witnessing when you see this is the Denver Cruisers. Been around for about 4 years now, the ride starts on Wednesdays at 7 pm at the Ginn Mill on Larimer. While I like to complain a lot about these bikers when I am driving en route somewhere, I’m secretly jealous and really want to go on a ride with them. I haven’t been yet but as soon as I get my bike fixed up I plan to go – I’ll of course let you know how it goes!
